The dog travel checklist
Everything we wish we’d had in one list before we left — passport timing, the groomer, the packing, the small things that are easy to forget. Tick as you go; it saves on your device.
First-hand from one real Denmark → Poland → Germany trip with Sofus, 6.2 kg. Built for small dogs travelling by train and plane.

This is a starting point, not medical or legal advice. The dates and rules here are what worked for us on one trip in spring 2026, for one small, healthy dog. Pet-travel rules change and vary by country and by dog — confirm the current requirements with your own vet and each operator before you rely on them. The single rule that does not bend: microchip first, then the rabies vaccination, then at least 21 days before you travel.
Last verified by us: spring 2026.
