Everything on this website and in our guide comes from our own real journey through Denmark, Poland and Germany with our dog Sofus in the spring of 2026 — our own bookings, tickets, and first-hand experience. We share it to help you plan your own trip. Please read the following before relying on any of it.
We share what we did; you follow the rules
The rules of each operator and each country are the authority, not us. Where we describe relaxing a rule, understand that we were taking personal responsibility for a judgement about our own animal in a specific situation, and that we would have acted differently around children, in a crowd, or with a larger or less predictable dog. We encourage you to follow every rule. Not doing so can have consequences you cannot foresee — fines, removal from a train, or far worse if a dog harms someone.
Rules and prices change
Every figure, fee, dimension and regulation on this site was accurate to the best of our knowledge for our trip in spring 2026, taken from our own bookings, tickets, and the operators’ published policies. Rules, fares, and enforcement change over time and vary by route, staff member, and circumstance. Always confirm the current rules directly with the airline, train operator, or relevant authority before you travel. We cannot be held responsible for changes, errors, or differences in how rules are applied.
You are responsible for your dog
Wherever you travel, you — not this website or our guide — are responsible for your dog’s behaviour and for complying with local law. In Denmark, for example, the Act on Dogs applies to visitors as well as residents: dogs must be leashed in public places, liability insurance for damage caused by your dog is required by law, and a dog that bites or injures a person or another animal can, in serious cases, face legal consequences up to and including being removed from its owner. Other countries have their own laws. Know the rules where you are, carry the required insurance, and keep your dog under control — for everyone’s safety, including your dog’s.
